TRUE flat coat

For matte clear coats, I’ve been using an acrylic spray can from an
art store. I also use the same brand’s spray can for gloss coats.
While I notice a significant difference between the finishes of these
two products, I am somewhat disappointed with the “flatness” of the
matte coat. My objects still have a bit of sheen.

Is there a better option? Maybe something I can load into my airbrush?

Thanks.

Im just currious what the brand name is of the spray your using ? I’ve used Floquil matt finish , it comes in a spray can and i “decan” it then spray it thru my airbrush.

I use : Inkpress Clear Acrylic Sealer Spray (Matte)

Thank you [tup]

I went and bought some MM clear today. Looking forward to trying it!

What are you building now ? I use MM clear also before i decal . A lot of people here use "Future " for a clear coat , but i never have myself .

Poly Scale clear flat is the best!

I’m building several models, but I need the flat coat
for the final layer on an F-16.

Polly scale - copy that, Mike. I looked for it today, but
I will have to mail order it it seems. I’ll experiment with
the MM for the heck of it.

If you want a really flat coat, check out the Model RR section in your LHS for Walthers DDV - It gives you the deadest, flattest “dull” coating I have ever seen. I’ts a laquer finish but I’ve never had any problems with airbrushing it (thin with laquer thinner) or applying it with a brush.
