This aircraft was a high-wing, twin-engined monoplane of the Second World War period, used by both the military as a transport and for commercial uses. It’s metal framework was mostly metal-covered with fabric covered control surfaces . It had a crew of three and featured a retractable undercarriage, slotted flaps and variable pitch propellers. The prototype was delivered in 1939 for commercial evaluation and was later transferred to military duties. A further commercial order was frustrated by the outbreak of war, but another commercial entity ordered eight aircraft which were based in Middle East throughout the war. A single military transport variant was built, having oval cabin windows instead of rectangular ones, and seating for 22. The sole variant crashed with the loss of 11 lives in October 1940, apparently due to jamming of the elevator. A further six aircraft were delivered for military use. This aircraft was mostly withdrawn from service by 1950, the last was scrapped in 1954.
