Trimaster Q for Pixilator! (Or anybody who knows!)

I direct this Q at Pix only because I remember he specifically mentioned Trimaster kits in previous posts, but if anybody has an opinion, please chime in! [:)]

I ran across two 1/48 Trimaster kits at an LHS: an FW-190F-8 and an Me-262 night fighter, both for about $10 USD each.
Pix, as I recall, you mentioned that these Trimaster kits are excellent (if not a little tricky to build), and a little rare. I’m not so interested in the FW-190, but the 262 is pretty cool.
Would you recommend this kit?

Hulk, if you’re not looking to grab that 190, how much would it be to ship it from Japan to the US, ya think? I might be interested depending on which kit it is…

Grab them both! Even if you do not want the 262 I’ll buy it off you.

Brian, the Trimaster Me 262 kit is my favorite model to build. I was able to score eight of them, at about $30 each. It is well worth the $10, as is the Fw 190.
I have pics that address the fit issues. They may be on a CD (I’ll have to look). I know they’re on the hard drive of my broken computer, and they don’t want me to install it in this rental one.
It is one of the most beautifully detailed kits ever made (in my opinion). I would buy as many as I could afford at that price !

Thanks for the info, fellas!
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that those kits are still there, and will try to head on over tomorrow to pick 'em both up.
Then I’ll get back in touch with yaz…

Watch this space for details!

Amen about those Trimaster kits. I’ve paid upwards of $60 each for the three that I have (all 190Ds) and I will say that it was money well spent.

Well folks, I finally had a chance to drop by that shop, and as luck would have it, they’re both gone, Daddy, gone!!
A classic case of snoozing and losing…

Whenever i need an idea of what a kit’s value is (or should be), I try to look it up on eBay to see what the “buy it now” is or what they actually sold for. Those kits are going for between 27 and 40 dollars US! I feel for you, bro. [sigh]

Ah well, you live and learn!
I’m going to the monstrous Shizuoka Modeller’s Flea Market next month, so If I see any there, I’ll grab 'em!

Hi Pix, about your broken computer.
How broken was it?
If the HD is ok and the BIOS chip / motherboard manufacturer is the same as the rental, you should be able to install it as a second HD, transfer your files and remove the old HD.
Otherwise the news could be bad.
I have an old HD that I wanted to transfer files from , but to put it on my new machine meant that I would have to format the drive and ditch the files, so I had to re build the old machine and transfer the files from the old HD to the new HD, then rebuild the new machine!
