Dang lol your links reminded me that I have a book somewhere in this god forsaken wasteland I call a house. I ought to go dig it up… but where to start… hmmmmmmm…
o ya lol i forgot to say that the book has most of those pictures in it.
The Ardennes forest is mostly made up of connifers (pine trees). The trees will remain green all year and the ground in the forests is covered with a light red/brown blanket of fallen ‘needles’. Ferns and Blueberry bushes are also very common in the forrests.
If you look at a map of Belgium, the area between the towns of Malmedy, Spa, Verviers, Eupen and the German border at the East, is marshland . A lot of tall grasses cover the very spongy ground; connifer forests are also common in that area. In fact, it’s not recommended to go outside the main roads without a ‘local’ and lives are lost every year with tourists disappearing in the marsh…
I’ll keep that in mind when I get to Belgium, DJ. He-he-he. Seriously, thanks for the tip.
If you ever go there, let me know, I’ll introduce you to the best brews! LOL
Yeah I heard good things about the brews there, too.
no ****** thanks for tip lol I am planning on taking a tour of the world in the future… hopfully near future. now all i need to know is how I can replicate those tree branches in 1/72 scale???
You may find some real cool looking pine trees in your local hobby/train shop. Beats scratching them!
What model are you working on?
Well maybe I will take a look at the hobby bench, but I dont believe they have any pine trees.
STILL, CAN ANYONE TELL ME A GOOD WAY TO SCRATCH BUILD THOSE TYPE OF BRANCHES??? sheesh, where is someone with a post on Missing-lynx.com when you need em???
OK try this link.
