Can somebody tell me what the best paint is that I can use for Trainer Yellow?
I’ve already tried the Revell and Humbrol ones, but don’t like the finish…
Mayby does Tamiya has a good match?
Or should I use modelmaster’s enamels?
Or could I order the WEM Trainer Yellow paint?
Surely you’ve tried the Humbrol Trainer Yellow, Hu 24… Modelmaster also makes a Trainer Yellow, but it is “RAF Trainer Yellow” it is gloss, and it is number is 2063… there is a Testors Trainer Yellow 1564… I think Tamiya doesn’t makes a good match for this color… hope this helps…
This is the one I’ve used for the Harvard I did for my mom; turned out well, I think. It has a good finish. I’d prime first before using it though (speaking from experience).
Both the Navy and the USAF used Chrome Yellow for their training aircraft, depending on the time frame you are trying to represent. Testors Model Master paints has chrome yellow in both enamel and acrylic paints.
