I have been wondering if there is anyone who would like to join in on a GB dedicated to trainer fixed and rotor-wing aircraft.
Start 03 Oct 2013 to lets sat 31 Dec 2013.
Any scale
started builds OK if less than 30%
WIP Pix please
Cross overs welcome
Having fum most important!
I am thinking of stuff like T-6, PT-17, Tiger Moth, PT-19, Cessna 150,Bell 47, Multi engine trainers like C-47. Basically anything that was or is being used at an basic or advanced trainer.
As this is my first time hoping to host I will need input WRT posting pix of compleded builds on main page and a badge aswell.
What say you, any interest??
I think I will kick off with a T-11 Vampire and or a T-33a
Hummmmmm, I’m in 8 GB’s now, but I might be talked into this one. I like your idea. Let’s see if you get any more takers. Like I said, I could be easily persuaded into it. [:$]
I like the idea, I just got an Me 109G-12 a couple of days ago. But the time frame is way to tight for me. I have just dropped out of 2 GB’s for this year.
Ok, let’s see if there are any more takers. If the main thing is time frame, I supose I could extend it a bit, but I have found (for myself) a “quick get in and done” sometimes works well.
I like the idea of a Chippy in the build! I did my first 7 flight hours in an ex-RAF Chip Mk10 many years ago
A 3 month GB isn’t all that bad an idea. Though it would of course restrict it to those who can build quick enough. The problem I see is the number of GB’s currently running. And GB’s that begin at the drop of a hat tend not to do to well. They give the impression that there was no thought or planning gone into the idea.
But saying that, I hope you can get enough people to commit and it goes really well. its a great idea.
Theuns, in terms of help for the setup, I thought that the setup of the Duck Hunter GB was a good recent example. When you create the thread, use the first post for describing the GB and rules, and badge(s). I liked the multiple badge idea in this GB too.
Make the 2nd post immediately so that it is reserved for the build roster and completed photos. As you need to update it, simply go into it and edit it each time. I’d be happy to assist or answer questions, whichever is preferred.
The idea with this GB is to get a quick “fun” build underway. I think there are a few long term “serious” GB’s going on and a simple quick one might be fun.
I will give it till let’s say next weekend to see if we can get 6 more guys (or gals) to join in, if not I will scrap the idea.
I wouldn’t scrap the idea, just put it off until a later date,… but that being said, you can count me in with the PM 1/72 T-38. I think it is a great idea for a GB!
Thanks for trying to find a set for me Bish, but 72nd scale is really nothing i feel comfortable with. Everything’s just too tiny for me. I leave that small stuff to magicians like you…
Eagle: Jedi mind tricks ain’t workin’ on me! Well, at least those regarding small scales don’t work. Bish already talked me into buying 2 Revell He-111s (1/32) and a conversion kit to make a He-111z (2 111s joined to make a plane with 2 fuselages) out of them…
