Tomkitten finished - 1/72 F14D (Italeri / Kitech)

All done - mostly OOB with a few adjustments - I converted the ‘A’ chinpod into the double ‘D’ with stretched sprue + milliput, and upgraded the NACES seats with plastic card. Finished in TwoBobs VF-31 Tomcatters decals.

Thankyou guys - I’ll do some half-decent photos when I can set up a nice backdrop. I’m particularly chuffed with this one as I wanted to see how a £1.25 model kit could look like

Great looking Cat, Skii.[tup][8-]

Great job! That turned out very nice. I like how you made the panel lines on your’s rather subtle.

I just thought I would share my model of an aircraft from the same squadron. I finished it about a year ago. It looks a bit more clean than a real Tomcat, I think your’s captures a more traditional Tomact look.

Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work!

Beoootiful Bombcat there Caine

a real stunner mate.

Wow !

Hey skii , is there anymore of those kits at your local Wilkinsons , there all sold out in Dagenham

Sean - last time I looked theres an F-16A and F-16D in the Hayes branch0 not sure about the others mate ,

Nice cat Skii, I’m working on too, I just hope I can get half as good as yours (thing will have to go better though) [tup]

Hi ya Skii

That is one great lookin’ 1/72 F-14 Tomcat … nice job on the paint … thanks for sharing … [swg]

Very nice Skii. Im not a fan of 1/72 but you’ve made that look as good as any 1/48 Ive seen and better than any I could do. Thanks for sharing.

Hiya skii
Great job my friend…[:p][;)] She sure stands out. Again I know that you mentioned how you did the panels but could you please explain once again?
What type of pre-shading did you do or was that all on how you AB’d? Thanks again for sharing…
Flaps up, Mike

Man Skii that looks awesome…can’t say enough about it…

Many thanks guys - far too kind Awood mate

Butz - the paintjob was actually pretty simple

I used grey car primer as the base coat (complete coverage) and then loaded up the airbrush with light grey - then I just lightly touched up the centre of each panel

Then just a layer of Klear and a medium strength panel wash.

Hope that helps

John
