To all Filipino Modelers

Allan, I have a lot of friends in manila and they enjoyed very much when i treat them at sutukil in mactan shrine. But there is new place, it takes about 15 minutes pumpboat ride ffrom mactan to olango island where there is a floatin restaurant with LIVE seafoods!
BTW, if I’m in manila on the 2nd IPMS Philippines, will drop by.

Ben, thnx for the info, and more power to your club!

Hey! A new place to go to. Ill see if I can pay that place a visit next time Im there. Might be there on the 17th of May for some business. Im sure the food is great (I stuff myself with seafood everytime Im there), but a floating restaurant sounds pricey. Are the prices reasonable?

We have a place here similar to Sutukil. Its Dampa in Sucat Road, Paranaque. Theres also one that just opened in Libis. You should check them out too when you go here.

Will check them out since I keep on hearing about Libis. Will also inquire about the prices of the seafood since the last time i’m there, some1 pay for the meals.
BTW, did you attend the world’s longest grill here in Cebu last January which is recorded by the guiness book of world records of 1.3km?

Wow! 1.3km grill? That mustve been something. I cant believe I missed that. Unfortunately I wasnt scheduled to go to Cebu that month. The Libis is good, but its still new and I fear they wont have the amount of fresh seafood you would normally find in Paranaque.

Hows the hobby shop in Ayala Center? They got good stuff there too.

The hobby shop in Ayala Cebu is like the sister co. of the hobby shop in quad, makati but a lot less of choices when it come to the brand of model kits. Where do you usually shop and what airbrush are you using?

Hi Sigman and all,

Newbie to the forum! I’m from Q.C. and have been building plastic models since I was a kid. I’m into 1/72 (Braille) scale armour, sci-fi (Star Wars and Aliens) and just getting into 1/72 aircraft. My armour collection is mainly modern tanks and AFV’s. Recently, I have decided to start building Philippine Army armour and PAF aircraft. “Mahalin and sariling atin” as they say. With the help of my comrades at IPMS-P-BAC, I have gotten good reference materials to start my AFP model building. They were such an inspiration in starting my AFP collection.

At the moment, my in-progress projects are: PA Scorpion, PAF NA-Texan and F-8H Crusader, M1 Abrams, and a Jedi Star Fighter.

As with Buck, I would like to extend an invitation to all Phil. modelers to the 2nd IPMS Philippines-Bert Anido Nationals on October 11-17, 2004 here in Manila. For updates please go to http://www.ipmsphilippines.com/.

Keep on building,
Bistro

hi… i’m new here. i build 1/144 modern ACs. Tomcats are my faves. I’m from R6… Does anybody know if there are X-32A/B and X-35 kits available? I’m after the experimental versions… Thanks! [:)]

Bistro and Emjaetee, welcome to FSM Forum [#welcome]

Libis is really near my house! What restaurant are you guys talking about?!? [:D]

Oh, and welcome to the forums, Bistro and emjaetee!!

thanks for the warm welcome… i was looking at hobby shops just this noontime and i saw the x-32… a tamiya 1/72… i was wondring if you can find any x-35s around?

Shrikes and Sigman,

Merci beaucoup for the warm welcome!

Hi emjaetee,

welcome fellow newbie. Good luck in your search for your x-35,! If i find it anywhere, i’ll send an e-mail.

Bistro

thanks, bistro… [:)]

Hi all! [:I]

I’m Jonathan or ‘Lipton’ as what my friends at IPMS-P-BAC branded me (yes with that red-hot iron he hehe). [:D]

I build WW2 and modern armors in 1:35th scale. But I’m venturing out na rin sa aircrafts, nakakahawa kasi sina Buck at Bistro. I’m currently giving the 2nd BACup a try so tigil muna lahat ng pending armors ko (I miss my ‘Shilka’ na [V]). [:D]

Oh by the way, give the 2nd IPMS Philippines-Bert Anido Nationals a shot, its open for all scale modellers in the Philippines. http://www.ipmsphilippines.com/

Ey emjaetee !!!

I think I saw one (as in isa na lang) at stc alimall, cubao.

Good day!
-Lipton-

Bistro and Lipton,

Eyyy! Fancy meeting you guys here. Welcome!!!

Welcome too to Emjaetree!

Shrikes,

Its “Dampa sa Libis” located just in front of Jollibee. I heard its already open but the choices of seafood may not be as vast as in Paranaque. Check it out my friend. Hope theres a good deal on lobsters there. Im a certifiable lobster addict!

Sigman,

I usually get my stuff at JMNs in Harrison, Hobbies and Comics in Cinema Square, and Lils outlets. And then of course theres the club trade vine. Hehehe! I use a Tamiya HG trigger type AB. Fine piece of equipment, and cleaning takes just seconds. I still keep my old standard Tamiya Spraywork AB as back-up.

Your a lobster addict too?!? Whenever someone in the family has a birthday, the celebrant chooses where to eat, and so, the running joke is to eat at Red Lobster, or this nice sea food place my ninang knows of in Rhode Island!! [:p]

It’s good to see more and more people here!

Shrikes,

I know youre a seafood and a Sutukil fan too. LOL.

Where is Red Lobster? Ive always wanted to try Rhode Island lobster. But I havent been to Rhode Island. Sigh. Someday, someday…

Oh by the way, you ever do your groceries in SM Mega? Go to the seafood section. Theres almost always stock of flathead lobsters, and at P300+ a kilo (that translates to about 4-7 pieces) its a bargain! The thing is, I think some people dont know its actually a species of lobster. Its known locally as “pitik” but man, its every ounce a lobster.

I have an schedule fire insurance inspection at cebu city this may, will try to see then , reagrds from IPMS Manila

Ben

Hello to all… I"m a newbie in this forum too. Been building kits since the mid 80’s but stopped during college. I’ve only been re-introduced to the hobby last January of this year and acquired an airbrush a couple of months ago. I’ve started re-honing my skills on some 1/144 Shanghai Dragon modern aircrafts (they come cheap for practice) but have some 1/72 aircrafts and helo kits in line to be built. I also am planning to get my feet wet into some 1/24 ESCI old-stock automobile kits I acquired this weekend and 1/144 Gundam HG kits. I know that’s a lotta genres for a newbie but I really wanna get a feel of each before narrowing it down to what I really want… so far my real favorite is the Soviet Mi-24 Hind.

Lipton… talaga? isa nalang? layo ko pa naman dun! [:(]

hi cbrain… fellow newbie here… looking forward sa mga in-progress pics mo! sana maipost mo soon… ako, kasi nagrerediscover pa lang talaga ng skill ko. as reference na rin sa akin… right guys?

Hmn… makapunta nga sa stc alimall, cubao mamaya… [:D] Is that X-35 in 1/72 scale?
