I have a tip I would like to share with all of you. Or maybe someone has a better way [:)]. I use a coffee cup warmer ( the kind you would use to keep your cup of coffee warm while you are working at your desk ). And a stainless steel bowl which just fits nicely with the coffee cup warmer. This combination keeps my white glue/ water mixture nice and warm while I apply decals. It has worked very good for me. [;)]
Sounds interesting. Does it help soften the decal so it settles down better? I too like to use a little white glue/water mix to improve adhesion and eliminate any silvering.
Woody I do believe it does soften the decal somewhat. It seams to apply better in the warm water glue solution. It was the way I was taught years ago. It works for me And I need all help I can get when it comes to decals.

I use about 1part glue to 2-3parts water. I really just eyeball it but that’s about right. Experiment on a flat(matte finish) painted surface-No silvering.[;)]
I’ve ben around for a while and this is the first I’ve heard of using White glue s adecal setter. I’ve got try this SOON! I’ve got several pieces to choose from that are waiting for decaling. (and I’m out of Gloss Coat right now).
pathfinder, make sure you blot up any extra solution after you have the decal placed. After a flat top coat you shouldn’t have any worries of silvering which is really just air trapped under the decal film. The glue/water solution doesn’t have the same surface tension so it doesn’t support micro air bubbles. Let us know how you like it.
What does the whit glue and water mixture do exactly[?]

Hey parfectputter, Have you ever had a decal that went on ok but had a silverish hue to the clear part? The glue elimanates that and it also helps when the quality of the decal glue is poor. Elmers is what I use but don’t get the “School Glue”.[;)]

Do I hear my eyes correctly? No silvering at all with the glue solution? even on a flat finish?
wow…now i can use my last bit of future on my canopy instead of coating the whole plane in it!! [:D]
