time to wash a priest

ok its time to get a priest dirty. the future has had a few days to dry and now its time to get the priest ditry. made a quick run to the store for a few supplies and pick up the watercolors that i needed. i got the following sepia, ivory black, raw sienna, burnt sienna, raw umber and burnt umber. man these little tubes of winsor & newton cotman watercolors werent cheap. so any tips on how much to use or is is just by a feel that you know if you have enough?[:D][:D]

It would help if you spoke more understandably. Not all of us know what the “priest” is and what you are trying to do.

oh, they are expensive! but i think u just need a small amount for washes “a small dab about the size of a BB pellet(read it on FSM, article by John Plzak July 2003)” mix it with mineral spirits.

Yes indeed. Those are expensive. For me, I just use the ordinary Tamiya acrylics thinned by isoprohyl alcohol and tap water. Usually I use the ratio:

paint - 5 to 10 %
thinner - 90 to 95 %

Good luck.

It should be a discolored water or thinner, not a thinned down paint. Other than that, I’m not sure, I am trying my first wash on my M10 for the Sherman Group Build. Is this for the build?

Ga.modeler, That is catchy title to this thread. Saw it and said: WHAT!?!?! lol

The M8 priest was a self propelled gun that was armed with a maain gun. Not sure of the size, and a .50 caliber maching gun. If you do a search on it, you would find pictures and info.
