Not sure if anyone here played this classic LucasArts game- but Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe was an awesome sim that allowed what if scenarios…and the chance to fly some interesting planes. I have gained an interest in the Luftwaffe planes especially- and was able to win this model on ebay over the weekend:
It’s a Ba 349 Natter-- basically a rocket interceptor that used the same engine as the Me-163 Komet. It was launched vertically from its tower, sailed up to the bomber formations and launched its 24 nose cone rockets into them, sailed above until the fuel quit, then the pilot ejected the engine to be reused, and ejected himself.
The model comes with the launch tower and a base…not bad for under $20.
And I must tip my hat to the seller- one of FSM’s advertisers- AAA Models- I won the model on Saturday night on ebay and it was sitting on my step this afternoon-- not bad for a quick trip from Montana to NY!!
