I am doing a Tiger early and the tank I am doing does not appear to have the turret smoke grenade set-up on it. Tamiya’s turret roof has the little rectangle (weld seam?) where you are to mount the kit part. My question is what did this look like when they are not attached? Are the weld seams removed or is there still an attachment plate mounted here? Sorry- this is a difficult question for me to put into words. Maybe I should say anyone have any pics of a Tiger Early turret roof without the smoke grenade launchers?
If you have the book Panzer colors III from squadron/signal publications, look on page79 at the Tiger at the top of the page. It has no smoke grenade with no plate are weldseams. But on page 82 it shows a tiger with just attachment plates and weld seams. I dont have a way to get you pictures, right now.But maybe somebody else can help you out. I dont think you would be wrong going with are without the weldseams.
So it can be either? Makes it easier. At least technically I won’t be wrong which ever way I go. Just have to find so good angles of my tank
Ok if your doing a early tiger from Das Reich leave the weldseams on.The pictures I have is S13 & S33 nither one have smoke grenade.But they have the weld seems like in the kit.Maybe that will help
