finished up Tiger 111 of sPz.Abt. 502 I used the Rye Field Models Tunisia kit.
I cannot critique on accuracy or other era details but the build and paint are on point [Y]
Looks right me. Have you built any other 1/35 Tiger I kits? And if so, how does this one compare?
I’ve only built this particular kit, 2 times now this version and the DAK tiger out of the box. so I cant compare to any other Tiger’s, but it is really nice and can be found for decent prices online
Nice build, i like the dusty finish.
Well done on the weathering. I’ve been hearing great buzz on these kits.
Excellent paint job! I do, however, have one question. The Tiger 1 generally carried four tow cables but I don’t see them on the model. Did you leave them off deliberately?

Terrific job there, love the faded paint and the dust. [Y]
From what I could find in pictures, this particular tank didn’t have any stuff on it. Just a few tools on the rear plate. Maybe they added the cables at some point.
That is interesting. Thanks!
Bill
Hi JTRACING,
Congratulations on a very nice build!
Interesting to see the color variation between sand and green(ish)
For those interested in any kind of research on the subject:

Again, very clean and nice build! Like it a lot!
My reference show the cables beeing in place (opposite way arround though) and the side skirts attached.
Very Best Regards
Johan
thanks, i used mainly other modellers builds as a guide. theres a youtuber that is backdating this kit also his videos have some nice info, just search on youtube for “backdating rye field models tiger 1” i liked this tank because it had no stuff or very little stuff being one of the first sent over.
Really like your enterpretation of one of my favorite tanks.[Y]
Hi JCTRACING,
I am sorry, please excuse me for confusing you, you clearly mentioned this is sPzAbt 502, I was confusing with 501.
I should have read better and understod that you where backdating the kit.
This picture is from the eastern front, the “initial” run, and that would make perfect sence.
Sorry!
Very Best Regards
Johan

Did you mean to have that rear pistol port opposite of what the photograph displays? I’ve seen those ports mounted crosseyed, walleyed, or looking left and/or right.
Regardless of that, I think this is a real treat. I like everything about it. Looks great.

Thanks, I probably just put it on wrong lol oh well. Good thing I’m not a rivet counter. Wonder if anyone would notice that if I didn’t post the picture
