I built this when DML released the kit as a special addition. Hot knife zim highlights the build. Fruil tracks and everything else OOB except the figures. I thought I would share it again for some of our newer members:

That’s a great looking Tiger there Crockett. I especially like that camo and the zimm, well done.
NOW I remember why I have that hot knife on the back of the bench! [swg]
~ Yeah that cats’ cool & the gang Man, Thanks for re-posting. Well worth a re-post
Thanks for re-posting! I would have not seen it if you haven’t done this. Great kitty! [tup] I haven’t done zim before… yes, I am a newbie now after no modeling for 20+ years. I bought a Tamiya zim tool kit that I can create zim using putty. Now you have showed us your work using hot knife! Which method would be easier for a newbie like myself… putty zim OR hot knife zim? Of course practice helps too!
Andy,
I’ve done several Tigers and Panthers using the hot knife, soldering iron method. I have also done putty, with the Tamiya tools, and used PE zim as well. I love the hot knife method, but I have yet to see but one modeler on these boards with the stones to try it. You might want to break back in with the putty, but, if you can, try the hot method on some scrap and see.
Remember, use only a 15W iron!, 30W is too hot:

THANKS! I will give it a shot one day. Your KT and Panther looks GREAT by the way!
