In the early 1940’s, this company produced a design for a twin-engined heavy fighter. It was intended have six cannon, but no armament was ever installed. It was designed to use a new turbo supercharged V-12 engines, driving four bladed propellers. The airframe was a radical new design to provide a great deal of lift and was of a design prevalent in today’s fighters. The first of two prototypes was completed in late 1943 and taxi tests were conducted; it’s first flight was in early January,1944 and lasted six minutes. The next two flights were accomplished without difficulty. During the fourth flight, however, the problems occurred that grounded the
aircraft. Upon return to the factory major rework and redesign was accomplished. During subsequent flights, several other problems were cured, but certain problems never were satisfactorily corrected. The prototype was heavily damaged by a fire and the manufacturer and the government agreed to terminate the contract. The second airframe was never completed.
