Those of you who may be driving from the east of Colorado ...

Interstate 70 west of Denver has been blocked by landslides & rockfalls from various wildfire burn scars. While one lane is open, traffic being diverted and is very congested. Check Colorado DOT for updates.

Recommendation is to either divert north on I80 through Cheyenne, WY and Salt Lake City or south on I40 through Albuquerque NM and Flagstaff Az

Good advice since the haze from Cali is so bad you can’t see in front of you!

Yes, in the 50 years I’ve been in Colorado, I have never seen the air been so bad. My sister who lives in the West, Grand Junction, was going to visit us in Denver, but detours as so long they decided to delay it.

The Colorado governor announced today (August 11) that I-70 through Glenwood Canyon would reopen this coming Saturday, August 14, in the afternoon.

Or as posted elsewhere; be prepared for a leisurely pace. One lane in each direction.
