This is my latest build, a Hasegawa 1/32 FW-190D-9, straight from the box. finished with Model Master enamels and acrylics, craft paints washes, pastel chalk weathering. I went light on the weathering, I feel that it looks better. Kit decals for JV-44 (Papagei-Staffel), Hptm. Waldemar Wubke, Germany 1945. The decals went on with no problems. The recogniton stripes are all decals. If I counted right it took over 40 seperate decals to do the bottom of the kit. All comments are welcome. I made masks to replicate the mottle camo, my technique is still a work in progress but, I am pretty happy with the results.
Luftwoller asked for a picture of the underside and I finally got around to taking a couple.
Fantastic - This has to be my all time favorite Dora markings. This will look very nice next to the Monogram you built last year. Now you need to build one in 1/72 [tup]
Excellent work on your Dora Mike! Have never seen the masks used quite like that before, but I must admit I really like the look. Stunning example of a late-war Luftwaffe bird. Thanks for sharing those pics! [^]
Very nice job indeed. Just proves you can build an OOB model and get it to look great. Lets have a pic of the Undersides. You spent enough time decalling the brute.
Very good job on the Dora. That too is one of my favorites.
Question: Some years back I remember a debate about the underside of this plane. Some said red, some said blue and some said black. I personally thought all the B/W photos indicated red.
I want to Thank each and every one that has responded to the post. This one was a lot of fun and not a difficult build at all. The best thing is that I have another one in the stash, just waiting for me to get to it. As far as the underside color all that I have read said it was red with white stripes. Thanks again all of you [:)]
