This Blackhawk Thing.

I know a lot about our British helicopters but you yanks can maybe tell me the answer to this puzzle.

In our daily papers they have been cracking on about this mysterious helicopter that clipped a wall and had to be destroyed they that is the paper drew an artist impression of the copter.

Now this is where you lot come in… correct me if i am wrong but this drawing holds a very strong likeness to the COMMANCHE of which i thought that the helicopter was for a word scrapped some years back how do i know i bought a 1/72 scale model kit of her knowing full well this is the only reminder that she existed also at the time word spread that due to …whatever… cost was one excuse… that is as far as it goes for her and the project was scrapped but the drawing says that it is the COMMANCHE but they say in the paper that and also reports stated it is a BLACKHAWK.

Oh! no it’s not…the body is the COMMANCHE the ROTOR blades are not as the COMMANCHE had four and the end of the blades has what our …MERLIN… or maybe you know her as the… EH101… has to increase speed through the air and other things.

The COMMANCHE had a i believe a FENISTRON tail rotor exactly like the …WESTLAND GAZELLE… enclosed the drawing shows an open tail rotor six blades as has the rotors on this …huh!.. BLACKHAWK.

So which is which is it a COMMANCHE or is it a BLACKHAWK .

SNAKE

it is probably an S-67 Blackhawk by sikorsky, only other balck hawk chopper i know of

what we have been told so far is that the Helo used was a modified special operations MH-60. and yes everything I have seen myself looks like they leared a few things with the comanche. Still no photoes and everyone I have been able to comntact has not seen it , yet.

I thought the Comanche was a gunship not capable of carrying troops. The sheered off tail section, even with the mods still looks like a Blackhawk.

Might be easier if you posted a photo of the mystery chopper.

I’m going to resist the quick & easy shot about how NCOs have to make it easy for the officers to understand.

Also, check out the “Stealth Blackhawk” thread a few posts down on the main helo modeling page.

Don’t blame me. You’re the one who needs help. Good luck, hope you’re successful.

I thought the Navy used the Seahawk, the Army uses the Blackhawk. Looks like they took the stealth technology from the Commanche and put it on the Seahawk.

It has been reported as a mixed team of Navy SEALs and Army Delta Operators flown in by Army Spec Ops (presumably 160th SOAR (Special Ops Aviation Regiment, Nightstalkers) heavily modified MH-60s.

Looking at these guys faces;

I think it was this ones bird that went down;

Heh! [Y]

If I were user of emoticons, I would have used one of them that represents friendly banter.

Don’t worry about me. I turned my years in Army aviation into a 6 figure income as a contractor.
