Thinning paint for airbrush ??????

I am new to the game of airbrusing and tryng to keep cost down .My question is do i have to use thinner made for airbrushing or can i buy any thinner to work? currently i have a 32oz bottle of low odor mineral spirits. Will this be ok? being that i only paid $3 for it and so far a 16oz of air brush thinner is about $8. Can any one help me ?

It should work fine with enamels. Give it a try and see.

Thank for the reply . I will try and post my results

Yearmax, thats exactly what I use for my MM enamels…should work without a hitch. Just a reminder: starting ratio- 2:1 (paint to thinner) For fine lines try 1:1 mix with OPM Oil Paint Medium made by Winsor & Newton available your local art store. I use Laquer thinner as a general purpose cleaner.
