Modelers, I found the following aircraft kits at an antique store. All are from the mid 70s and are in the orginal wrap.

I had the Fujimi F-5B. It is actually a T-38A and has very little detail in the wheel wells and cockpit. If you get it don’t build it, just keep it and hope it will be worth something someday.
Some of those Heller kits were fairly good, even by new standards. Just take look at their 1/72 Me-163 with tractor and the trailer with inflatable bags to support the airplane. Very fine little kit. And I mean little. The Fujimi F-5, as stated above, is not even worth opening. I’d keep it closed and sit on the thing. It may be valuable when Fujimi has been forgotten. I forgot who those original molds came from, but the Fujimi F-8 is just as bad, as are all those jets in that series. I seem to recall, however, that Fujimi made some really good Japanese planes in 1/48 or 1/50 and at one time were quite sought-after.
These kits are not worth anything. In fact, the plastic wrap is a carcinogen and must be disposed of immediatley. I hope you do not have children or pets that have come in contact with these kits. Please send the kits immediately to my address so I can dispose of them properly. You should have know better picking these up. How are you feeling? Any respiratory distress? Please forward them ASAP and do not remove the wrap.

Kits of that vintage regardless of what ther are are always worth something. It all comes down to what does the seller want for them. If they do not know much about models you just might get a great deal. Go for it!

In an attempt to “appraise” my kit stash, I recently began watching ebay for the kits that I have. I listed them in my Ebay Watch List (you can now watch up to 100 items). I receive an email each time a new one is listed, and I just wait until the auction has ended and record the price. Obviously, the prices vary according to kit condition and how badly someone wants it, but after a few times, you can derive an average price. It will take a while, but you don’t really have that many kits to watch for.
There is also a publication out for current prices of older kits. I don’t know offhand what it’s called, but I’m sure someone here does.

I would go a $1 each. The two Heller 72nd kits are pretty good and the Airfix Jag and Skyray are buildable. The Matchbox intakes can be used (among other things) to make the Airfix version acceptable. I wouldn’t buy the Fujimi F-5 and not sure how the Heller 1/50 kit is. You could build half of them and ebay the others (should at least break even).
