The verdict is in! Iwata or Aztec...

Well after a few weeks of using my new Iwata Eclipse siphon feed brush from dixieart I must say… PUUUURRRFFFEECCTT!! Iwata hit it sqare on the nose with this line of brush. Very easy to use and easy to clean. The only problem I have had so far is the siphon feed. It is nice for large projects, however if you are doing small items you waste lots of paint by mixing a large enough amount to be picked up by the siphon tube. “How do solve this” you might ask. Well I called the great people at dixiart and they sent me a siphone “cup” adaptor!! Awsome! Now its just like a gravity feed plus I now have the option to use the siphon bottle available for large projects and clears. WOOOHOOOOO![:D]
With all that said I can say now with no regret.
AZTEC AIRBRUSH’S are awful. A true waste of money, In my opinion. Burn you Aztec and look for a more suitable brush.

I agree about the Iwata…

But the aztek does have its uses and fans. I know some artists who really like the Aztek for their purposes.

I used to have one, and it was nice… but I moved on.

Yeah, but does it LOOK cool? [:P][;)]

Why not just use a metal color cup? They are small and work great for modelling.

Mike

thats what the cup i got is. IT works great.

I used to get the most reliable results from my aztek. I used it over a badger 100LG and Paschee VL. After I bought my eclipse, the only time I touched my aztek was to cover rust on my girlfriend’s SUV (the fully functional 1:1 scale kind)

Iwatas are indeed excellent airbrushes. I do still use my trusty Paasche-H when I’m feeling nastolgic and I still get excellent results with it. I currently own three Iwatas, two gravity-feed and my first one-a bottom-feed Hp-BCS. Over the years I’ve used and collected many airbrushes in my quest for the “perfect” one and I must tip my hat to the Iwata Eclipse line. I now own a Revolution Hp-CR and it performs excellent; and it is priced at an unbelievable low price of only $59.00! Does it get any better for modelers?..wow. Aztek eat your heart out.
