Here’s a little side project that I’ve been working on, it’s Tamiya’s Ardennes King Tiger. The only Am that I used was Eduard engine deck screens and Tamiya’s individual track links. The tracks were great, very easy clean up and no fit problems at all, great to work with. Well I called the thread “UGLY DUCKLING” because right now with all the silly putty and different colored paints all over, she’s pretty darn ugly. I’m now going to pull the ugly outer shell off and see what we have hidden underneath, hopefully she’s alot prettier underneath.
Well here’s what we have under that rough exterior. I’m overall pleased with the result, there is a few touch ups needed. Next step is adding the dots and decals, then then adding the tools and other small parts, and then onto weathering. I’m also using the kit supplied crew, so they’re next on the painting schedule.
Veeeerrrrryyyyy nice…that hard edge looks kickin and will look even better when you blend it a bit with some filters to tone down the colors…I did a very similar scheme a year ago or so on the zimmed Tiger II:
panzer88: You definately give the “silly putty” technique credibility…she looks awesome! Several of your recent builds showcase the multi-color camo’…is this a phase of yours?..or just the way you like 'em…whatever the case, you really are a master[bow]!
Hello everybody, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted any updates. I’ve been busy as a beaver building, but lost access to a camera to show any of it. Here’s where the "ugly duckling stands right now, I would say that she’s 99% done, just need to build up a base for her and her costars.
Thanks for checking in guys and the input. Do you guys see anything that I may have missed before I call this one done? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
