I started this last weekend and just finished it off today. As it was there were two days within the week that I did no modeling at all (criminal, I know), I worked my regular job AND moved my daughter onto campus an hour and a half away. This is the Sierra Scale 1/48 Bereznyak B-1 vacuformed kit with a small sprue of very low pressure injection molded detailpieces. This is a bi-fuel rocket powered interceptor that never made it past the prototype flight stages which were actually conducted on skies.
Seat belts were added as left-overs from a 1/48 Tupolev build, 20mm cannon barrels are from brass tubing, decals are left-over ICM markings from Yaks and MiGs. Inside the cockpit instrument decals are from Mike Grant. I used these to enhance the look even though the kit part did have reasonably good raised details.
The aircraft is done in fictional markings of an operational bomber interceptor squadron. Figures and ladder are from an ICM Russian Aces kit. Here is a link to the full kit review and build feature http://www.swannysmodels.com/Bereznyak.html

Nice work, Swanny, interesting subject matter.
Swanny,
Outstanding work on a totally fascinating and unusual subject! I was unaware of this a/c at all! Thanks for sharing and for a neat history lesson!
