The Official 2015 "Red Hot and Rollin' " Automotive Group Build (OLD THREAD)

Ok folks it looks like there’s been enough interest to start an “Official Group Build” out of this so welcome to the 2015 “Red Hot and Rollin’ “ Automotive Group Build. For those of you who know me, I usually stick to aircraft subjects but have recently been bitten by the automotive bug. So I figured , why not run an automotive GB for a change? Raven728 will be co-hosting this group build with me so any questions you have pertaining to this GB can be asked of either one of us.

The guidelines are:

  • It will run from 1 Jan 2015 until 2 Jan 2016.

You can enter models in any stage of completion, as long as they are around the 50% completed stage.

Crossovers are welcome to join.

Any scale, anything automotive but no military vehicles here please. Only street type cars and trucks.

Aftermarket items are allowed. The sky is the limit!

Please share progress and pictures as you build.

You can enter at any time within the one year group build time frame

And finally as my usual final rule/ guideline: Be social, encouraging and have fun!

The participant roster:

1.) Midnightprowler: 1/25 Revell 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda

Completed builds post

Don’t mean December 31, 2015? If so, count me in. I’ve got an oldie kit my sister gave me 3-4 years back for Christmas. It’s an MPC '57 Flip Nose Corvette 1/25 sacle.

Here’s the kicker on that kit:

I used to have this kit in my youth.

My sister who is a teacher down in Maryland got it at a school Christmas store event practically for nothing. Yeah, the kit is still in the original shrink wrap. Nice score to my sis!!!

Thanks for the heads up on the correction Black Sheep. I’ll get you in the intro and cool story!

Mustang,

The 51 is an AMT 51 Bel Air

The Ford is a Lindberg 37 Ford Custom. Please add it to my list since I don’t have time to finish it before the end of the other GB.

Looking forward to seeing some great builds, and thanks for starting another automotive GB.

L8TR,

Eric

Will join this one! Just not sure on the kit yet.

**ewheeler454:**I’ve got your changes made to your entries bud, and thanks for the comment on another automotive GB.[Y]

**CodyJ:**Just let me or Raven know dude. We’ll get you covered!

A bit of a change of plans for me. I picked up an AMT 1957 Chevy Belair 1:25 at the LHS last night.

It’s even molded in my favorite colour and should give me a chance to try some more bare metal foil. I haven’t opened the wrap yet but it looks like a pretty nice kit.

I’m excited and looking forward to this GB. Another thanks for setting this up for us.

Gord

Gotcha covered Gord! and your welcome for the GB dude.

Now only to figure out what color I really want to paint that '57 Vette. LOL!

Got you added BlackSheep!

You still list your GB running from 1 Jan 2014 until 2 Jan 2015. Whaaaa? Do you mean Jan 1st, 2015 til December 2015?

LOL!

Jeeez! Got er fixed…A GAIN!! LOL

Hi all,

Mustang asked me to restart the thread because Raven728 needed to have the second spot as co-host for the group build. Here’s the link to the new thread. Just go over there and continue to post. I’ll lock this one so no one accidentally posts into it.

Good luck!

Tim
