The most realistic Carbon Fiber I've seen!

It was hard, it was crazy. But I figured a way to make some EXTREMLY realistic CF. Paint a THICK layer of black and let it dry half way. Then press a screen into it and then take it off. It should leave a nice texture on it. When it has dried drybrush it with metallic grey and let it dry. Then start painting on layers of Testors clear parts cement until it looks good to you.
I wouldn’t do this on a small detailed piece. But I did it on a hood and it looks aswome! It took me about 5 tries to get it to look good. Be sure to give it PLENTY of time to dry so that the clear dries clear and so that no fingerprints make their way onto it. Try it out. Lemme know it it works for you.

Wow! awesome. is there anyway we can get some pictures? i would love to see this…i was tempted to paint a carbon fiber hood for my datsun 240z…but i was just going to paint it black. but this opens alot up for me. thanks.

I agree Enzo, let’s see some pics!!! It sure sounds awesome!!!

I would love to post pics. But… my digital camera SUCKS!!! Its the little 20 buck one from wal-mart. And I have no clue what-so-ever how to post pics on here. Even if I could post the fine detail more than likely wouldn’t be visible. All that I can really say is to try it out on some scrap. I’m currently doing a Lingenfelter CF air box on a Z06 corvette.
