The Last Warning (April 1944, Normandy) Prequel #2

The very early build of the surface was kind of a mess, since I needed an elevated surface in which I could place the bunker and show the abruptly descending cliffs that are typical for the Pointe-du-Hoc region. So I decided to use two old sturdy moving boxes, taped them solidly shut and glued them firmly together with heat glue gun. I then placed on top two rectangular Balsa wood plates which were glued the same way. Once solidly applied I then proceeded to glue the bunker into an angled position to face what would be Omaha Beach at a certain distance (obviously not seen) and started to paint the structure in light gray concrete shade.
I also started to build trench fences for a later application. They were made out of wooden ice cream sticks whose tips were sawn away with a Dremel and the holding poles are common toothpicks.
I also drilled holes on the outer upper surfaces of the bunker and placed and glued cut skewers into the openings. They represent wooden poles on which a large camouflage net would be fixed. Later on they will also be provided with tiny hooks made out brass wire.
