Is anyone building this cool 1/24 Aoshima MAD MAX V8 Interceptor kit?

I haven’t seen the Aoshima model but I do have a 1/25th resin one done by an australian company called cavalier model productions. It is very cool.
If you want to own one Madda, the V8 Interceptor is a dressed up version of an australian ford XC falcon from the 70s. All they really did for the film was build their own front end, put some spoilers on the back and stuck a huge engine in it.

It’s a real nice kit! I need to wait about one month to finish my current project before I can dig in…The sad part is that its about 44.00 to 50.00 here in the U.S. [:(]
QUESTION:
In the begining of ‘The Road Warrior’…did the car still have the MFP decal on the side and that blue police light on the dash?..The kit comes with those options…but its all in Japanese. Still have not found a GOOD site for GOOD movie pics.

Yup, I’m an aussie alright. Digi D might have been around back when the film was made in the 70s but I’ve never heard of it. As far as I know, the car didn’t have any markings on it other than the tyres and I’m pretty sure the police light was removed for the second film. The model I have has no decals or police light. But I will get my hands on both movies before I start my model to double check.
I do know that the car in the second film was slightly different from the first and there was only one made, so thats the real thing you see get trashed at the end of road warrior.
I had a really really old copy of Street Machine magazine that did a feature on the car, I dunno if you could see images on thier sight. Also, the second film is called Mad Max II in Australia, you could see if there is an australian sight with good images.

Oops, a few corrections. a) It was a XB falcon, not an XC. b) It did have a MFP marking on it in the first film but not the second. c) There were replicas made and it turns out the original is sitting in a museum ( this was not the info I got from my old street machine mag!!)

Now…Its been a while since I saw thses flicks…but didn’t Max get that car in the middle of tha first movie?..it was a special ‘new’ car they had in the MFP garage…then it blew up in the beginning of the second film?
Now I need to get these on DVD.
Pretty sharp car still. Sad the supercharger was just for show. A friend of mine had a Mustang with a real supercharger on it, similar to that one. The rear end sort of looks like a Mach 1 rear end with a Studabaker Avanti front end. I like that car quite a bit.
Aoshima released 2 versions of the interceptor bassically the same Kit, but one is a limited release.

I have heard a rumour that they will follow with a 1/12 Motorbike Kit from the Movie.

Max gets the car towards the end of the first flick. He then rolls it a few times towards the end of the second film, you can see the results of that on the link I left above.
As far as sci-fi bikes and cars go, I’ve always wanted to do Keneeda’s bike from Akira! Now THAT’S a nice bike.
That actually isn’t that difficult to do, still looking for nice prints/drawings to do one myself. The Body hides a lot of stuff that looks standard to me on the toys.
I think there is also a 1/1 scale conversion running around somewhere over here.
Think a hybrid between a 400cc scooter and a Bike frame dressed up and you will be close I think.

On Pg 36 of the February Scale Auto(FSM’s Sister mag) they have a '74 HoldenTorana done in the MFP interceptor scheme…looks pretty cool if you ask me. Just like everything else in modeling some one converts and scratchbuilds something…some company releases it LOL!
