"The Last Kiss..." *finished*

A small dio I started awhile back–couldn’t find the old WIP post so I am just creating a new one…Tamiya car and streetlight, Junior Town figgies…scratched base…

Manny nice to see you back! I really like your ‘home front’ vignette. I see that you haven’t lost your touch when it comes to figures[Y].

Just one thing isn’t that an English newspaper I see[:O]. Must have fallen out of that Lancaster that was shot down the night before[;)].

LOL…yeah, that’s it…

After seeing “Inglorious Bastards” I think the girl fig sorta looks like the French girl in the movie, especially with the color of the dress…the cinema would make a neat dio from the movie…

Great work!

That looks very nice Manny. [Y]

Nice looking stuff manny.

If she is French you can do another showing her at the end of the war with her head shaved being stoned as she runs from town.

LMAO…actually, she is a double-agent…as they are embracing her hand slowly works its way down his back to his holster where she yanks his pistol out–mid kiss…

Beautiful work, Manny! [:D[

Now that you mentioned “Inglorious Bastards”, that’s exactly what comes to mind when looking at that! Outstanding!!

Take care,

Frank

Yeah, it almost reminds me of three scenes rolled into one: when the German “hero” first meets her outside the cinema, the scene where the staff car pulls up to take her to meet Dr. Goebbels and the night of the premier when she is in that sexy dress…

Manny - Nothing but the best from you. I love it, I was a bit surprised he did not have his hand lower…getting one last squeeze!!

Always enjoy your figs.

Rounds Complete!!

Very Nice! Very nice Herr Fieldmarshal [*-)][Y][Y] This looks good, i can see theree where some refinements since it’s WIP posting, though some are subtle things. I showed it to the Mrs. and she liked it(and she’s a tuff critic!) I liked your original story of how he was scooting her off back to Berlin so he could continue amourous persuits during the occupation or some such… But the Basterds connection is there I’d say, maybe 'cause that movie touched on nearly every war-time-sceme movie I can think of , and I dug it(Brilliant) of course you guys missed how they mis-spelled thier own title on purpose “bastErds”!) The Red dress goes on with the Bowie song (maybe a place to pull your title from) “Putting out Fire”

Thanks guys—I didn’t want to spend too much time on this little vignette so the car probably could use a little more subtle weathering, but I did replace one of the kit’s windows with acetate to represent the rolled down driver’s window. I also added some military lights and an Army Korps insignia to depict the car belonging to a higher HQ–presumably, Paris…Who knows, maybe we will see some of those basterds in 35th scale resin soon!!!

I like it!

Thanks, Jim—vignettes or small dios are good to do on the side while working on larger projects to give yourself some satisfaction of getting something done…lol…

Excellent work![:D[

Where did the figures come from?

Thanks. The figs are from “Junior Town”—a hard to find company which is from Korea or Japan, I believe…

Very simple layout, fantastically constructed. Personally, I’d have offset the streetlamp a bit further off, but no biggier.

As for the figures, no comments really. They’re right up there with what we’ve come to expect from you.

Thanks, Zokissima—the simplicity of the project was a nice break from my larger dios…I purposely angled the base so that it was only as big as necessary to give it a more focused perspective on “the kiss”…
