This is moving quickly, especially for me,major hull and turret assembly done.Next up,either assembling the six road wheel assemblies,or slinging some paint. We’ll see how I feel.
I’m noticing that turret seam looks a little worse then it is,that’s the white paint from inside bleeding thru, once I hit it with primer, you can barely see it.
She’s beginning to look like a Sherman! Good work. Road wheel assemblies, while the iron is hot? Or paint? Don’t know.
Gary
Looking good Tony! Can’t recall if you have figures for this or not.
Thanks for looking, there’s only an infantryman,I won’t be using him.
Slow progress after the 4th, but she’s finally up on her landing gear. The gear hatches are the most complicated I’ve seen, but I’ll have to tackle them.
Wish me luck!
Gary
Great progress on the F-80 and the giant Sherman.
I wish I could say the same for the Tigercat. I’m moving at a snails pace. I did get the main gear mostly done. I made lead wire brake lines and add the scissors from photo etch robbed from a set for a different a/c. The gear bays are mostly painted and ready for assembly. Wings are almost ready for some primer. The kit wheels/tires are very plain, so I’m using these resin ones. They are for the P-38, but I think they look the part in this scale.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Greg
Hey,it’s summer, not always easy to stay at the bench in great weather
The Tigercat is coming along, maybe slowly, but it’s that time of year. The F-80’s the same.
Anthony, I wouldn’t worry about figures. A 1/16 scale Sherman will eat up enough paint!
You know we were speaking of B-26s earlier. I was in Ollies the other day and they had an Atlantis B-26 in 1/67 scale (a repop of the old box-scale Monogram). I thought about picking it up, but passed. I have enough with what I have to fill this group build (Mig-15, F4U-4, F-51 Mustang, and F9F-2 Panther). But if anyone is interested, check with your local Ollies.
Gary
PS> Noticed that ICM is coming out with a new B-26C-50 Invader Korean War in October. Maybe I’ll save up for that.
I realized the La-11 Fang I’m working on fought in Korea so it fits. But I’m finishing it as a Soviet fighter

It is here in AZ… the AC is most tempting in the Sonora Desert heat ![]()
Yeah,that’s a bit much
After I’m going to be done with the Audi, I found a Tamiya skyraider with Korean War USMS decals from Euro Decals.
Excited for this build ![]()

Will this qualify for the gb? Cheers
Yes, it does. Just remember that you have to START building a subject to qualify for this group build (or at least state you are working on it). Also, a fresh build or less than 10% completed (of course, 10% is open to interpretation). Would love to see that Skyraider.

Well, the “Red Devils” went off the rails, the big decals gave me a problem,so I had to paint out the red,and I’ll be going with a less flamboyant scheme, but otherwise its going good,I hand painted all the details and started on the,I think they call them trucks
I am building the Takom M46 Patton tank in 1/35. I will be building the USMC version of the exact tank that my father drove (that’s him in the driver’s hatch) as a tribute build. I have everything that I need for this build with the exception of a serial number stencil decal set from Archer Transfers (ordered 7/14).
@Tojo72 Bummer about the decals! I guess there were plenty of Shermans without fancy paintwork in Korea. Personally, she’s so big I can only imagine the decal size!
@Rh1957 Welcome to FSM! That’s a great picture. Do you know where it was taken?
As for me, I’ve managed to get the gear hatches squared away, but I had to refer to photos on the internet to figure out how to assemble them. The instructions were a tad confusing. I’ll post pictures tomorrow and let things dry. I’m afraid to touch them!

Gary, I am not sure of the location. However, I have a map that he sent to my Mother with a location for their base that was northwest of Inje in the Gangwon-do Province of South Korea, so that would be my best guess for the location.
Inje is on the east coast not far from the 38th parallel. Guess this was towards the end of the war.
Gary
RH1957, what a great way to honor your father’s service to our country. Good Luck with this very special project.
