The continuing saga of "The Tojo"

Here she is heading to the paint room for her first coat of Future

Next will come the decals then sludge wash, exhaust staining and gun blast marks. The decals should prove interesting as the sheet displays massive cracking evidence. I coated it with a fixative today and soon will see if that will hold them together or not.

Did a little work on my Tupolev tonight also. It has a rather different exhaust manifold don’t you think?

That’s not glued in place yet; still have a little putty work to do around the nacelle. The kind of cream-colored line across the top is a puttied seam. That manifold needed lots of clean-up work and the tip drilled out.

Nice work, Swanny. That Tojo looks like it’s been down some hard roads!

Yes, it looks very beat up. Somebody needs to talk to the Japanese Navy about quality control. And, that poor pilot is gonna get his head blown off with no canopy! Oh, just noticed there’s no prop, either, so he should be ok, unless this is the experimental jet version they built towards the end of the war.[:)]

That’s one scruffy looking Tojo!

No offence intended!

It looks the part.

Karl

always love seeing your work Swanny, even if it does cause my green eyed monster to rear his ugly head…
