The Hasegawa 1/72 Hornet kits are the best IMHO.

The new Hasegawa Super Hornets, F/A-18E is kit # 0549 and F is kit #0548, are exceptionally accurate. The Italeri Super Hornets are representative of the 1st prototypes, so they have a few accuracy issues. The worst being the dorsal speed brake between the fins. The A,B,C & D Hornets had this feature, but the E and F do not. The A,B,C & D Hasegawa Hornets are pretty good. Since these models are what foreign air forces are flying, I would recommend them. I’m 95%through the Hasegawa E for the Nav Av GB and it’s nice but it’s got some fit demons that youhave to watch for. Cockpit detail is sparse as well.
I like the Hasegawa kits as well but cockpit detail is sparse in all of them. Also, to my eye, the tail fins are a little short on the A,B,C and D models. Fujimi has kits of the Bug as well in 72 scale that were ridiculously expensive when they came out and, if I remember correctly, have quite a number of fit issues.
