I will join in on this one just to finish what I had started in the last one. That Moebius Models Hudson Hornet.
I’ve updated the build roster Mike. Get stuck into it !
Cheers

Hey all,
Finally getting some decent weather. I hope to start on the Chevelle this week. I just about have the body ready for primer. Also have all the chrome stripped. I’ll post some pics later this week when I have some good progress to show.

Talentless things are looking great so far!
I’ve been working on getting a Mustang done for the other GB so I don’t have much progress to report. About all I have done so far is working on getting the body ready for paint.
There were pretty heavy mold lines on the cab, and box, and the light bar(wing?) was not a good fit. It needed a lot of sanding to smooth out the seam.
The rear bumper wasn’t a good fit either, but a little sheet styrene and some sanding and it should be fine.
Yeah, that does look like it was rough Dale. Extra work for noting, but I guess that is what we sign up for !
Cheers

Count me in with a just barely started AMT International Payhauler. Gives me a good excuse to git r dun. I think 3 GB’s should be fine until I finish one.
Had a bit of a busy weekend and hectic week for a variety of reasons thusfar. Very little progress. Just fiddled and cleaned a bit on the body parts. The intakes on the engine cover was the only thing I altered a bit (emphasis on “a bit” - this is still a quick OOB build!) by just hollowing them out slightly more. I stared at some of the plates on the diffuser and thought about thinning them… and slapped myself on the wrist and told me to behave!
Just a quick pic of the engine in it’s current state. Like I said, OOB quick build, so don’t get excited about defects, this will at any rate be hidden beneath the engine cover! Oh, just put the Lotus 91 next to it for a fun size comparison. Not the world’s best shot, quick, shallow and with flash. Don’t sue me.
Oh darn… I now see I have to upload it somewhere first and not load it from my PC. This will have to wait till I’m home and can access such sites. Or have I missed a trick?
Hi Seabe,
Yeah, I upload my photos to Photobucket first. There are other sites available too, of course.
Cheers
Tony
have lost a lot of the painting/ prep pics [8o|]
anyway, heres how the cylinderheads/airbox look. i chopped off to crap plastic piping and will do a part re-plumb with shrink tube, theses more to go on yet and the horrible off-centre merc decal will be replaced with a pe part (i hope). the decals in this kit suck a**
Lookin’ good, talentless! Are those silver parts PE or paint? It looks absolutely stunning!
Will attempt to put my previous pic in here…
The large silver part on the airbox is pe. The striped SLR cylinder tops are also pe, they were painted and the paint rubbed off the raised bits with micromesh.
I wish i had the restraint to build oob, but i am a magpie for pe and resin bits and bobs and cant resist. It makes it an expensive hobby tho :-/
That really is looking great talentless. I must be a magpie too, I have boxes of that stuff for all scales and all subjects. Decals too.
George - I’ve added the Caddy, sorry I missed it.
I’m really feeling like working on my Ferrari F186, it must be an annual thing at this time of year. I might mask up the body so that I can spray the front wings and suspension black. Then I can give it a quick spray on the weekend when the whether cools down. I have quite a number of these resin F1 Ferraris, I need to build them quicker than 1 every 3 years.I wanted to build one car from every year from 1975 to present, but the seasons are rolling buy quicker than than I am completing. If I ever get this one done, I’ll have complete 1986-90, including two cars from 1989.
Forecast today varies between 44 and 46 degrees C. This is some heatwave ! Might mosy on out to the pool now Forget the Ferrari…
Cheers
Tony
Gee Tony, 46 degrees C would be about 114 degrees F here in Yank land. No wonder your gonna ease on out to the pool! If you had the degrees in C that I have here you would be facing 6 degrees. No pool for me, I gotta go break Ice off the pond for the critters. More Ice and snow flurries due by Fri. Maybe I can get some modeling done then. Enjoy the pool you lucky dog!
Haha, it’s taking a lot of restraint! But something totally different to the Lotus 91… mind you, that’s also actually OOB, but… a different prospect altogether - for me, at least!
Tony, hit that pool! I saw from the Tour Down Under guys (starting this w/e) that there’s going to be some hooot days! We’re in summer, but nothing that bad yet. Feb is our traditional hot month. But we do have 42 predicted for next week… Our pool water temp was nicely hovering at 30, so it’s just perfect!
And also hit that F186! Go for it, man…
I am, boys…very relaxing here :)))))
Where are you Seabe ?
Cheers
Tony
In Paarl - the Cape Winelands in South Africa. In a few weekends we talk rugby… Hit that pool, apparently you guys are in for a rough time. (See the tennis guys are also struggling.) On that note - I’m off to hit the pool myself!
Its peeing down with rain AGAIN here north of london. Enjoy your pools
We might be talking cricket Seabe, do you follow it ? The Aussies arrive there in early February. Sorry talentless, shouldn’t have mentioned it
Another hot one here, but there is a cool change tonight, at long last. Needless to say, the Ferrari was untouched.
Regards
Tony
You guys are making me jealous with all this talk about weather. We just got done with 2 weeks of below zero farenhiet temps. It is still getting below zero at night. Hockey is our sport up here in northern Minnesota.
Hey Tony, you guys are looking awesome at the moment. Will be an interesting series! Still can’t believe Kallis decided to retire right before this series.
All I did to the R10 was adding some panels to the body and then last night giving them base, plus doing some metallic black on some of the main chassis/floor sections, some SGB to follow at places. Yes, early on the body work, but I like not to be rushed for that - rather allow proper drying time and just be ready for assembly when it comes to those steps. So will most likely slap on some alu over the weekend.
