The 2014 Automotive Group Build

This GB is open to anyone who feels like building an automotive, non military vehicle with one, two, three, four or many wheels. That’s it, it’s open to road cars, racing cars, motorbikes, trucks, construction machinery, buses, firetrucks, police cars, trikes and anything else you can think of.

It will run from January 1st until December 31st 2014.

You can enter models in any stage of completion, as long as they are not fully complete.

The intention is that this GB will supplement the other automotive GBs that we run, so that you can enter cars outside of that specific subject here.

Crossovers are fine and welcome.

The only rules are that the subject is not military, and it doesn’t fly or sail.

You can use any material, kit, aftermarket, decals or whatever.

Please enter your photos along the way and engage in conversation with fellow builders.

Sign up anytime. Please let me know if you would like to roll an incomplete build from the 2013 Automotive GB into this one.

just started a tamiya SLR 722, im not sure how much will be done by the GB start tho’. it may be too much?

would it be ok if i start taking pics now and upload them on jan 1st? cant stop building now i have started :frowning:

Tony, roll the '14 Stutz over to this group build and I will add something else later. I don’t know what yet but something will jump at me. With some luck, the 240 Z will be finished before the '13 build ends.

talentless - I think your suggestion of taking photos as ypu WIP now, then posting on 1st January is a great idea. I’ve added you to the build roster too. I’ve got that thing in the stash myself, so I’d love to see plenty of photos and comments. Welcome !

i’m in just don’t know what. looking at my stash it will probably be a firetruck, possibly 1940s german from icm or the new UNIMOG

This is the kit plus the hobby design pe set.

I have had this for months, its about time it was put to use.

for such an expensive kit there is quite a small parts count. the result of this can be seen in the engine. There is a reasonable amount of detail - BUT a lot of it is moulded in meaning a stack of awkward masking. It has already been sprayed in semi gloss black.

Not too bad a result. alclad flat and white aluminium on the engine and gunze SM06 on the heat shields.

if you havent tried mr hobby SM06 or SM01 etc then you should. its tough as old boots gives a lovely finish can be masked with no probs and will stick to bare pastic, even clear plastic like nothing else i know of.

Hey guys, mind if I join?

Will only be with an initial OOB Revell Audi R10 quick build, which I started NY day - just to get rid of any possible 2013 curses!

Background: Quick for me means it may be done by the end of the decade, but will have no extra detail! My building pace is… well, at times I can see the dust of tortoises rushing past.

Started this kit as a relieve to my frustrations. Also in a learning curve with a Tameo Lotus 91. Awesome kit, but my first more detailed 43rd build. And then I stuffed my one thumb up in a MTB’ing accident recently, so steering clear of the small stuff for the moment, esp since I am busy with the suspension.
