Does any one know about the testors custom decal system? Is it worth getting?
Use hair setting liquid, very cheap price or a hair conditioner to stick decals.
I use only hair setting liquid and it works very well and never get problem.
Let dry in couple minutes, soak a q-tips or cotton cloth in water to wipe out the rest of hair liquid. No silvering at all. Try it.
HEY,
BeSeen i think you clicked on the wrong post.lol

Only if you have NO other way to create and scale graphics (unlikely if you have a color inkjet printer). The included software is very limited with only a small number of graphics until you “upgrade” to the full version for a further $9.99. Along with the minimal software, you also get a 3oz spray can of “decal bonder” (to keep the ink from bleeding) and only one half-sheet (5.5” X 8.5”)each white and clear decal paper. The decal sheets come rolled up in the box so you’ll have to flatten them out under a book for a few days before trying to run them through a printer.
A better alternative might be to just buy the blank Testors decal paper you need and buy a can of the Testors decal bonder.
BUT - think carefully about how you’ll actually USE any of this. You can’t print white - you have to use white decal paper for that. And if you use white decal paper, how will you cut the tiny decals to be smooth, even and symmetrical along their edges? Not impossible but certainly not easy either.
Best bets are printing monochrome lo-visibility USAF/USN/USMC markings on the clear paper.
Actually, a way around the limitations of the included software is mentioned in this thread from last year:

I quote:
“Ok I pretty much thought this decal maker stunk since you had to pay for and upgrade in order to import images. But i just messed around with it today and insytead of importing an image by clickinhg on file then open. Just open whatever picture you want to make a decal with MS paint, then just right click, copy, and then paste it into the testors decal maker. I havent tried printing anything but this will get the image in the testors system. But its probably better to just use a phot editor with decal paper.”
There’s a lot of other good tips in that thread too.
Regards,
Thanks, I appreciate the help.[:)]
