Have any of you guys built this kit? and if so would you recommend it???
I assume you’re talking about the Hobby Store Only 1/72 kit?
I started it, but never finished it. I was pretty inexperienced at building then (mid-90s - but I still am!).
IIRC, the body was in 3 big sections. The “main” fusalage (if you can call it that) and the 2 “wing” sections. I think the killer was a lot of filling was needed to get them to blend in… and I was unable to do a satisfactory job.
However, in retrospect, I’d love to give it a try again. It was a decent enough “looking” model if a person were to do a good job.
I built the same one back then too and there were those large gaps in the wings too. I am going to build another one, so maybe i’ll do a better job now that I know more about modeling.
I’ve read that a good way to build it is in top and bottom halves, rather than center and outboard sections. You may experience some warped parts. It’s no a great kit, but if you can fill, sand, and smooth big seams, the model will look terrific. I built it when it first came out for review in the magazine. I recently sold the model to a customer, and want to make another for my collection. Wish somebody would do aftermarket decals for it.
