Testors Acrylic color question

I tried to do a search and found nothing (and sorry if this is such a noob question, hey I mostly model armor [;)] ), I’m making a trip to the hobby store, to get the paint for this project, tomorrow morning.

I am building Hasegawa’s F4F “Phabulous Phantom”

The painting instructions give Light Grey & Dark Grey, but, what do these equal to, in Testors colors? These are the colors, I currently have in my stash:

Light Ghost Grey = ?

Dark Ghost Grey = ?

Dark Gull Grey = ?

Gunship Grey = ?

Any help is really appreciated!!

Considering that the colors are 2 shades of grey, I have to assume it’s the Hill Grey scheme. You probably want to confirm this, but if so, the colors are 36118 Gunship Grey, and 36270 Neutral Grey. In my humble opinion, gunship grey right out of the bottle always looks way too dark. I’ve found that Dark Gull Grey is a great scale substitute. Compare them on a piece of scrap and see what you think. As for neutral grey, add just a little bit of white.
