Temperature and effects on airbrushing

Guys, the temp here has just dropped about 20 degrees F in the last day and a half. I live in Georgia where we always have high humidities on top of that. I do my building inside but my airbrushing is done outside. Is it safe to assume that I can just give up airbrushing this time of the year? I’m afraid that with such a change in temp from inside to outside, the model may sweat from the change after bring painted.

This is something I’ve never worried about before, but then again, as of late, I’m becoming a bit more serious about my model building.

Thanks again!
Dana

I live in Oklahoma and the temperature has dropped here as well. I build inside and airbrush in the garage which probrably has the same temperature as outdoors. I have not had a problem with airbrushing in the cold temps yet.

Thanks Jetav8r. My main concern was the sudden change in temp from transporting the model outside to paint, then back inside to dry. I guess we’ll see what happens. [:)]

I think you’d be more concerned about what the temperature change is doing to your paint itself rather than the airbrush!

Glenn

That’s what I’m talking about. I’m not concerned with the airbrush. I can clean that!

Dana,

I’m sorry I went back and read my post and it was as clear as mud. What I meant to say was that I have not had any problems with the paint in the cold weather. I usually try bring the paint inside and let it warm up before airbrushing though. I can get kind of lazy and leave my airbrush paints in the garage.
