technique for filling/sanding after paint?

so a few days ago, in my Arii build (i’ve lost track of the # of threads I posted about this darn kit) I filled in what looked like a hole with styrene melted from the kit’s sprue.

well today I found out that it was actually one of the location points for an antennae…

I took my drill and re-opened it, but now its a tad bit too circular and big

if I glue and fill before I paint, I will surely break it off, but what if I do it after the paint? is there a way to do it w/o killing the surrounding paint?

thanks much

Hi Jin

Paint and finish as you normally do and attach the antennae with PVA woodworking glue. This will dry clear, if the holes a bit big, add a bit of glue to the holewith a cocktailstick/toothpick streched sprue and let it partially set then push the part into this. If it over spills clean up with either a damp cotton bud or small brush. This can then be touched when dry without bothering the earlier paint job.
