When a tank has a certain cammoflage, does all the gear on the tan, also have the cammo?
I have a Games Workshop tank painted with a white scheme.

I want to put a variety of gear on it including tread parts. There is also personal gear, jerry cans, a tow chain, etc.
Though this is a “fantasy tank” I still want it to look the way a military would use it and still keep its cammo.
Most equipment isn’t changed to match the color scheme of the vehicle, it’s just used as is. Most US jerry cans are either tan or black regardless of vehicle color. Most duffel bags are still in OD green etc. I’d make chains a rusty/steel color. US tracks come from the factory covered with a very dark brown preservative so extra track blocks are usually a glossy black . (They appear black, but are actually very dark brown).
It really depends. German crews word take all the shovels and cables and whatnot off and paint the tank and put it back on. If a crew was doing a white-wash and needed it done fast they wouldn’t have time to take off their gear and would paint around vehical numbers and equipment the best they could. They might mess up and paint their equipment.
What are those tanky thingies in that web sight you posted? Is that for a game or somethin?
I wonder how well that suggestion about useing a foam sponge to do a white wash would look though.
It doesn’t look like what you would find on todays tanks or even WWI or II if that is what you mean. Outside of “tank-dom” though there are a lot of strange ideas for camo patterns.
Being Sci-fi, it probably doesn’t matter. People will paint their game’s army Yellow and Blue and call it camo.
They are for a game, yes. But I don’t play it in part because it is strategy based. I like the tanks .
It’s kind of wierd. I built this thing called a Basilisk It is basically a self propelled howitzer. But from the look of it, it uses poweder charges like you’d find on a battleship.
And this is supposed to be something like 40,000 years in the future?!?
Anyway, the whole idea was to have a bit of realism. If not, I’d just paint the thing Bright Yellow with all the gear painted black. The only place it could hide is in a field of Sunflowers. [:)]
