tank pics

Here is my first model build without my dad’s help. It’s also the first armor build. I brush painted everything. It is built straight from the box. It is Tamiya’s King Tiger Ardennes Front. Please give comments good or bad and tips that would be helpful on my next build. Thankyou all.

wow, my friend,
I do not believe this is your first kit. really nice, much better than some self-called pro[:D]
how did you do the camo? cut masking tape for every shap even the dots?

cheers.
tom

That looks really, really nice!! You should have seen what I build as my first model.

Well I must say you went all out and delivered a pretty good first armor build. Mud…damage…tri-color camo. You did pretty good. One thing that caught my attention is the damage on the glacious plate. It looks like a big hole or huge gauge. On that brute, from all the refs I’ve seen, you would only see a little mark or gauge made. Definately no penetration. I hope you continue to do more, because your treaded down the right path.

Nice job, keep up the good work![:)]

That is a real nice job you did there! I am working on the same kit myself. A very nice fitting kit

For the camo i lightly drew lines on where i wanted each color. then i painted with a brush. for the dots i just dabbed the brush in paint and dabbed it on the tank.

Very good work! I love the mud on the running gear. Thanks for the pictures.[tup]

Thankyou all for your comments.

Looks nice, camo is right on. Perhaps a very light ink wash in your next build to pop out some panel lines.

Thats just about exactly how they did it in the field.

All I get are red X’s

Really a super job. I too can’t believe it’s your first solo effort. Please keep building and posting your progress

Ted

That looks really good. You’ve done a fine job of painting and weathering, first time or not. Keep them coming.

hey, that looks great! Good job on the painting and weathering!

Would love to see your work but I got the dreaded Red X’s. Semper Fi, mike

I came back over here to view your Tiger, after having seen your Panzer II I can see from my earlier post that I had tryed to view your work but got the “Red X”, now I can see it, and I must say, for your first solo tank you’ve really done quite a job. You’re developing into a fine modeller. Look forward to seeing more of your work, and watching you grow in the hobby. Semper Fi, mike

Looks really good. One comment though, the insides of the hatches would not be white. They were painted the base color of the vehicle, either sand or panzer gray. Other than that, looks pretty good.

[:D]you realy did a great job on the kit,are sure its your first[:D], great job[:D]

Hello ! All I can say is Happy Modelling ! And invest in an Airbrush , it will give you opportunities to do really great cam schemes on German Armor .( But practice with it first). Thanks for the pics ! Your Tiger looks great ! The other members of this forum have given you great advice. If your interest is Tiger Tanks , well ,you are in the right forum, alot of these guys are real Tiger enthusiasts, ask , and you shall receive.
