Going to tank fest this weekend which is one of the highlights of the year in military interests. Real Tiger1 in action as well as panzer 3 &2 with poss jagdpanther in action loads of US and British stuff and a WW2 reenactment battle, tank rides, Stalls galore , Large 1/4 & 6 RC tanks in action etc etc. To top it all me and my son get in free with petrol exspences paid and lunch thrown in aswell as we will be showing models in the museum. But instead of having to sit at a couple of tables and having a heart attack everytime a familly with kids aproaches the table and the kids try to pick up a model that youve spent a month making and break every detail in doin so even when youve got notices saying fragile dont touch im going to take my 1/6 radio controlled Tiger 1 and set that on the table thus not having to worry about it getting broken and which will leave us total freedom to bugg*r of and enjoy the day and not be tied to the table. What gets me is when you do a model demonstration or a showing in a location like this when the kids try to pick up or touch the models the parents dont say anything to them and then look at you like your a freak when you say please dont touch to thier kids, the kids and moreso the parents need to know the meaning of respect, anyway now ive got that off my chest i will post some pics next week. If anyone wants close up shots of any tanks or details then let me know before Sunday.
Awesome Andy what a great thing for you and your son to enjoy and free admission to boot!
Yeah I had the same experience with a group of friends that were looking at my models and touching them and ending up breaking off two fenders as well. I handled it with graciousness of course but I was surprised by one guy who is just an acquaintance actually who laughed after he broke off the fender and told everyone at least I know how to glue it back on again. [yuck] Very Icky Guy.
Sounds like a good plan Andy, I’m sure you’ll have a great time!
I wanna go! However, it’s a pretty long swim. Send back some juicy photos or maybe some youtube footage of the live tanks. Yes, I have seen them on there before.
Andy - A lousy day at any museum beats a great day at work!!! Its always great to go to these things. Sounds like an absolute blast. Have a great time.
Rounds Complete!!
Bodge, sounds like a great weekend. Hope you and your son have a great time! If you have the time I’d love some good pics of a Matilda if they have one.

Bodge, gonna be in England around the end of September. Anything going on then, that you know of? Feel free to PM me since it’s not strictly modelling…
Andy, I hope you have a great time. And as said before…pics, pics, pics…so take plenty of spare batteries. When I was back in Germany in 05 I went to the Panzermuseum in Munster and I did not take enough batteries. I have to check what I did with the pics. Anyway, you enjoy ur Tankfest.
