Tan Armor weathering?

Just looking for some different ideas on this. What do you guys think is the best way to weather armor thats painted mostly tan with some green camoflauge? I’ve aleady applied a wash for the panel lines and want to create an overall weathered appearance. I was thinking a light brown heavily thinned paint airbrushed over the model followed by some black drybrushing. Is this the way to go? Any other ideas?

Note: This is for a maus tank so there are not alot of raised panel lines to highlight with the drybrushing.

Thanks for any input!

Drybrushig with a very light tan maybe followed by a little white should do the trick.

I sprayed light coats of the base over the camo on my Marder to give it more of a blended, faded look.

The most interesting way to weather your model, except all those washes and drybrushing is to carefully chipping all over with a dark color like panzer grey or even some patches with red brown primer…
Over those a dusting will add more to overall effect.

Hey there,

Since armor painted tan is most likely to be used in the desert regions you might stick to weathering with lighter shads of your painted surfaces…for a faded or sand blown look. Hit your tracks and wheels up with plenty of sand color overspray…and the overall body of the model as well…you could always use some earth tone to bring out the panel lines as well.

Good luck with it
