Tamiya's 1/48th P-51D Mustang 357thFG WIP Update 16 5/5/26

I use the same thinner mix with the same issue, where did it come from? I found it on a YouTube channel so I’m going to look in my history.

Once I find it, I’m going to make a label and stick it to the bottle so I don’t lose it again. It is like 60/30/10 flow improver/thinner/retarder.

Here is another maybe more current test.

When it comes to thinning paints I go with an old variation of mixing the paint in the cup to the viscosity of ‘skim milk’. To me its always worked. But to each modeler; you do what works best for you.

For sure I do the same, it is adding the retarder that really seems to help with tip dry and orange peel.

Update 16
Yup, I am still alive n kickin. I’ll just say it, ever since the top side paint issue, I can’t wait to get this thing done.
This is the part of the build that I do not like, it being shiny on top of the hickup, I’m over it lol
I’ve got the decals on and so far so good. The one part of the decals that are not aftermarket are the checkered pattern which came from the kit supplied decals. Not bad at all if I do say so myself.
Well here she is.. The name is living up to its name sake with this build..
