Tamiya X20A & Ammo by MiG Acrylics

I ran out of Ammo by MiG acrylic thinner. Since there is an apparent alcohol component to the Ammo MiG thinner, I tried Tamiya X20A acrylic thinner; which also contains alcohol plus retarders. Thinning 60/40 Tamiya X20A to Ammo MiG paint, I had effortless spraying and coverage on a practice mule through my GSI P289 .3mm. The Ammo MiG paint and X20A sprayed longer than Vallejo and MMP without dreaded tip dry. I also noticed less satin sheen to the Ammo MiG paint with X20A.

Ya,no reason it shouldn’t work. Sounds like a winner.

I have also successfully used Vallejo thinner and Flow Improver with Mig Acrylics, using Vallejo’s standard 10-2-2 mix

They work with Meng also

Great input, thank you…acrylics are very temperamental particularly in our dry and high altitude part of the country. Fun to experiment (on old kits/mules) though!

x20a has retarder? news to me. sure does not act like it when I use it [:(((]
