Finished up a 1/35 Tamiya Willys Jeep. Absolute classic. Included inside in an Alpine Miniatures US Jeep Driver and some random pieces of Value Gear. Everything else was included in the kit. Went for more of a dusty/washed out look. Just wanted to share - Easily one of Tamiya’s most classic AFVs.
Very nice job on both the jeep and figure.
Super nice. Looks dusty and dry. Poor driver’s canteen is probably empty. Wonder what’s in the box?
Those alpine minis are so realistic. You’ve done a great job on him.
Very nice build and paint especially the figure.
They’re not the gods of war that tanks or artillery are, but there’s just something so characterful about modelling the mundane logistical vehicles like staff cars, jeeps and motorcycles! A beautiful outcome with this project MM7!
Well done MM7!
Happy Modeling,
Mike
Nicely done! I will be saving this thread for inspiration when I get to my Tamiya M151A2.
Very well done, that looks really good.
There are many resin Jeep and Dodge dedicated figures like drivers and officers, but the best indeed are those from Alpine, as well as one particular one from The Bodi set in the Battle of the Bulge which is a real jewel.
And the same can be said of all the Jeeps that are by now flying around in every scale conceivable testifying their long lasting and legendary popularity.
I own many, either in Summer or Winter assets both the Willys kind as well as the Ford built ones for WWII. I don’t have the Bantam ones which were mostly seen on the Eastern Front.
In my personal opinion all are valuable, whether coming from Italeri (despite their age), Tamiya, Dragon or Bronco, The easiest to build though are still the Italeri and Tamiya models, not to criticize the other two by any means.
As I can see yours is an out of the box build of Tamiya’s own Jeep and I believe that you made a very good job with it, including the Alpine figure driving it and the Value Gear random pieces which you included on the rear and side seats.
My only critique, if you want to call it so, is for the terrain. I would have wished to see at least some bushes or even a small tree on one side to make it look a bit more attractive.
The figure seems to be a tired driver who must have driven it for miles.
it would have been more interesting if you had placed another resting figure to the side of this vignette addressing the driver or vice versa.
But as such and being this your personal creation it came out well as it is.
My compliments. I hope to see more of your work in the future.
