I want to get one of these, but I’m not surewhuch is better. maybe you guyscould point me in the right direction…
Jaypack55, I got both, and it depends on what you’re looking for.
For the money, the Eduard kit is probably the better buy, as it gives you extensive detail (engine, undercarriage, cockpit), prepainted PE, decals for 4 different ac, and painting masks…would add up to alot more than ~$30 if purchased separately. Also, the Eduard is newly tooled, and the reviews on it have been nothing short of spectacular. Listed for $39.95, you can usually find it discounted by at least a few dollars.
For ease of build, the Tamiya kit is probably better as it allows for a quick and easy out-of-the-box build, similar to their A3 and F8 in parts.
Good luck… can’t really go wrong with either.
Bill
It all depends on what you want. Check out Eduard’s website, as they have pictures and more importantly a review from HyperScale about it. The HyperScale review is very frank and lays out the differences in the kits very well.
If you want something quick and dirty, go with the Tamiya. If you want the pinnacle of Fw190 kits, go with the Eduard.
I have the Tamiya version on my bench right now, to be followed by the Eduard, so obviously I like both!

I can only speak for the Tamiya offering. It was typical Tamiya, well engineered, no issues and has good detail. I’ve read really good things about the Eduard kit however, and will pick one up sooner or later. [:)]
I can only echo what others have said. The Tamiya kit is a fairly easy, straight forward build that looks like a FW-190, although it does have some accuracy issues, due mostly to compromises to make building it easier. I haven’t built the Eduard kit, yet, but I bought 2 of them. It is a very highly detailed kit & appears to be very accurate. Some features, like the full detailed engine, will never be seen unless you remove cowl panels & the same is true for the other interior detail in gun bays. I suspect it will be a much more challenging build than the Tamiya, but worth it if you want the ultimate Butcher Bird.

OK, I guess my decision is made- I’ll take the more detailed Eduard kit. thanks for your help!
Although the Eduard kit is nice, i have had nothing but headaches since the beggining. 1., after joining the fuse t-gether, it’s a real hassle to get the cowlgun platform to mount at it’s specified location point’s. 2, There are 16 cylinders but only 8 exhaust pipes, which means if yo want to display with the engine covers open you’ll need to come up with 8 more, as the exhaust pipe locating holes on top of the engine will be without any pipes whatsoever and will be very noticable. 3, the instructions aren’t very clear on a-lot of thing’s involved with the build. So in my opinion, get the Tamiya, plus some aftermarket cockpit detail goody’s and save yourself some headache’s[2c]
Get Both!! No such thing as too many Focken’ Wulves!!!
Cheers,
