I purchased a Tamiya tank kit a few months ago, started gluing it together but then noticed that the wheel caps were missing. I’ve contacted the internet hobby store I purchased it from and also Tamiya USA directly, and I’m waiting for a reply.
Has anyone out there experienced a similar situation? (I realize now that I should have inventoried all the parts as soon as the kit arrived.)
Are there companies out there that sell original replacement parts, like wheel caps?

Do you mean the black polyvinyl caps that fit inside the wheels to allow them to spin? I have a few extras laying around that I am not using. If you want them, e-mail me your address. I would also try contacting the place where you purchased the model from. I had some missing part issues from something bought thru Great Models and they got me some replacements. Squadron is also good at getting replacements

I had the same problem with the tamiya su-85. I was doing a combo with a tamiya t-34 and one kit had those little black plastic hub caps and the other didn’t. My LHS said the su-85 kit was no longer built so looks like I will have to buy a new su-85 from Squadron or something.
i have a willys jeep myself that came with no clear sprue (winshield and headlights)
For the guys in the USA, best contact Tamiya USA and order those parts.
Tamiya will charge you for them though, there is a chance that they won’t have certain sprues in stock though.
Alternatively you can buy AM Poly caps and similar from makers like Wave or Kotobukiya(might need a bit of trimming though).
