Tamiya paint, what size to get?

Hello all,

I am a beginner modeler. Been airbrushing for a long time and been painting miniatures for couple years.

I just got the scale model bug and got 2 models, 1/48 and a Tamiya 1/32 P51 (I know a little advanced but I am ready for the challenge.)

Here is my question. I am getting all the colors needed from a local hobby store. They tamiya, and some Valejo Air. The Tamiya seems to be good, based on what I read in the internet. They have 2 sizes. The small one is $2.25 a can and the larger one is only 50c more.

Is there any reason not to get the large one. Considering I will not be doing a lot of models at the same time, is it better to get the small ones?

Also, if anyone thinks I should go another route for the paint brand (mainly airbrushing) I would love to hear some feedback as well.

Thanks in advance

Already bought the large bottles. Wow this forum is great. Took 5 days to post…

Oops sorry, didn’t see your earlier post!

I always buy the bigger bottles when I can find them, the small ones seem to have so little paint in them that a few shots with the airbrush and the bottle is empty. The bigger ones last much better and I’ve got Tamiya paint that’s years old- it rarely seems to dry up or go bad.

I think the bigger bottles are a better value, and they really don’t go bad for quite awhile.Tamiya is very good for the A/B

Oh by the way, Friday 11/22/13 @ 0852 to Monday 11/25/13 @ 0927 is three days not five.

Oh,and I must have missed your “Introduce Yourself Post” when you signed up,along with all your other weekend posts. So enjoy the forum. [^o)]
