Here is my finished 48 Martlet V [made from the Tamiya F4 Wildcat kit], in the markings of 842 Sqn RNFAA aboard MHS Fencer in the Bay of Biscay Operation.
This is an OOB construction with AM deacls, the enamels are AeroMaster ‘Warbird’ RAF Sky over Exrtra Dark Sea Grey / Slate Grey, which are from the Humbrol range of enamel paints. The exhaust, gun flast and cordite stains are from pastels applied with a cotton bud [Q Tip].
Ahhh! fancy running into another Martlet fan here! [;)] I have recently done a Mk.I and Mk.IV and it will probably be a long time before I build an F4F as a Wildcat again!
Nice job on the paint, and I see you corrected the cowl as well! I missed that on my first one, but being as it was modeled after the lend lease planes diverted to britain at the fall of Paris I tell myself they were really stock Wildcats in English clothes! [;)]
It was a pleasure viewing your build, and it’s nice to see other Martlets about!
