This is the Tamiya M151A1 Vietnam jeep done up as an MP vehicle using the kit decals. You can see the build of the jeep here. I also used the Legend M151A1 detailing Set (LF1277). I also added a red light/siren that I got off eBay. It was intended for a 1/32 fire truck. Lastly, I added the excellent Bravo 6 Vietnam MP set. The figures are really nice and only needed a strap added to the M16A1 to be complete. They have a bunch of details molded onto them.
What comes in that detail set? I may have to get one.
The 151s were fairly comfortable, especially compared to the CJ-5s used byvarious support squadrons and squadron commanders. One of their main flaws was the independent rear wheel suspension which gave a slight tilt to the rear wheels which could be a bit dangerous.
Thanks guys. I’m glad you like them. The Tamiya M151A1 is a really nice kit. The Legend Detail set really dresses it up too. The set is pretty complete and I only used the seats, radio and antenna base, rear fuel can, and a few other small pieces from it. Here is a review I did of it at Armorama to see what all comes in it: armorama.kitmaker.net/modules.php
Nice work on that jeep! Ten or eleven years ago, before all the goodies were there, I tackled a similar subject - one photo of it is even in my avatar! More on my build, for comparison, here:
